Open Coil Heater designs offer the greatest efficiency, highest reliability, and most effective cost structure for heating air.
1. Best Performance & Efficiency
The circuits in open coil air heaters are in direct contact with the air to be heated. So heat exchange from the circuit to the air is most direct and efficient of any air heaters.
Fast heat- up and cool- down times are characteristic due to low mass design. This also means low thermal mass and little residual heat so tighter control and safer operation are enhanced.
Minimal back pressure (low pressure drop) allow for easier passage of air and enable smaller less expensive blowers to be used. There is flexibility to arrange circuits to match the velocity profile of the air flow pattern (put more circuits where flow is greatest , less in low flow areas). Additionally, very high wattages can be accommodated in small volume spaces.
We can easily accommodate multiple circuits and coil taps. It's also easy to integrate high limit thermostats, thermal cut offs, and sensors.
2. Reliability
Open coil heaters are rugged and have a long history of trouble-free service in the field. The inherent efficiency of the design (exchanging heat rapidly to the air with low mass) assures that excessive temperatures don't build up in the heater and won't shorten it's life. And since the heater is so open it does not congest or tax the overall air delivery system.
